What Would You Do For Charity??
MyTelus.com reported today that the Canadian Breast Cancer Society is refusing a donation from a fundraising group of exotic dancers in Vancouver saying the stigma is "too much" for charity.
"I really feel that it's a strong indication of the degree of the stigma that exotic dancers experience when an organization doesn't even want to be associated with them for fear of experiencing the same stigma.".... Trina Ricketts, exotic dancer
I don't know about you but this throws the whole basis of my relay team's fundraising out the window. If the Easter Seals knew The Bobbleheads raised funds from such events as our Annual Bikini Car Wash, the Bikini Keg Party, one of our more famous events: Tennis Ho's & Golf Pros would they have declined the $100, 000+ dollars we raised? I mean if you can't drink for the kids, then who can you drink for?
Which in my opinion serves 2 purposes: One, if I'm going to drink, my dollars are going to a good cause and Two: Kids aren't old enough to drink so I may as well do it for them.
Side Bar: A couple of years ago Doug The Kid's GF thought Jammer & Brutal were cool and wanted to be like them when she was their age... KIDS! Trust me... this isn't something you should aspire to...
But what does this article really say then? I can drink for kids, I can gamble for kids but god forbid I show my bodacious ta ta's in fear there is a stigma attached to it because after all it's much more respectable to get absolutely hammered & take home the random guy on the bar stool next to you because he slipped a 20 into the donation box .... not that I do that or at least I not that I can remember. I was hammered after all.........................
